How to Set Up Alexa Voice Profiles

To create an Alexa voice profile using the Alexa app for iOS and Android:

  • Launch the Alexa app and tap the Menu icon in the top-left corner.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Account Settings.
  • Tap Recognized Voices.
  • Tap Create a Voice Profile.
  • Tap Continue.
  • Say the phrases Alexa asks you to repeat.
  • Tap Done to return to the voice profiles screen.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the voice profiles screen to view instructions for adding additional users.
  • Once you’ve added more recognized voices, you can return to this screen and tap Match voice profiles to help Alexa differentiate between users.

Tap Start. You’ll be prompted to pass your phone to the other user.

Troubleshooting Alexa Voice Recognition

If Alexa is having trouble telling who is who, you can try deleting your voice profile and starting fresh, or you can train Alexa to better recognize your voice:

Tap Manage Voice Profile.

Tap Delete voice profile to erase all voice settings for your account.
