Both email addresses and website URLs can be turned into clickable links, which immediately open an email message or web page. While it’s possible to turn text or images into links manually, the Mozilla Thunderbird email client can automatically insert a hyperlinked email address or website into an email message.

Your email may also include references to other contacts’ email addresses, and automatically hyperlinking them would be handy and convenient for your recipient.
Thunderbird’s Automatic Hyperlink Feature
Thunderbird’s hyperlinking feature is particularly easy because you don’t have to do anything special. When you type an email address or website in Thunderbird, it looks like plain text in the composition window. It isn’t a different color and doesn’t appear to be a clickable link. However, if you save or send the message, the links become clickable automatically. Here’s how it works:

- Select the Sent folder to view the email you just sent. You’ll see that the email addresses and URLs in the message were automatically hyperlinked.
- When the recipient opens the message in their email client, all emails and URLs are hyperlinked.
