If you can’t connect to Roblox, it could be that the gaming platform is down right now, or it might just be a problem with your computer or browser. It can sometimes be difficult to figure out if Roblox is down for everyone or just for you, but here’s how to tell whether it’s one or other, and what to do if the problem is on your end.

How to Tell if Roblox Is Down for Everyone

If you’re experiencing problems with purchases, joining games, lags, or delays and think Roblox is down for everyone, a few simple tests can confirm that. Give these steps a try to see if others are experiencing the same issues you are.

  • Check the Roblox Status Page. This page is hosted by Roblox, so it should be up-to-date, but it is possible that it lags a little behind depending on how quickly users report outages (and how soon you notice one).
  • Search Twitter for #RobloxDown, or check the Roblox Twitter Page. Users often take to Twitter before they even report a problem, so it’s a good place to look when you want to confirm there is an issue with the service.
  • If you can’t open Twitter or other popular websites like Facebook or YouTube, then the problem could be with your ISP.
  • Use a third-party status checker website like Down For Everyone Or Just Me, Downdetector, Is It Down Right Now?, and Outage.Report.
  • If no one else is reporting issues with Roblox, then it’s likely the problem is on your side.

What to Do When You Can’t Connect to Roblox

If Roblox seems to be working fine for everyone but you, then there are a few things you can try to get it working again.

Check the Roblox Status Page. This page is hosted by Roblox, so it should be up-to-date, but it is possible that it lags a little behind depending on how quickly users report outages (and how soon you notice one).

Search Twitter for #RobloxDown, or check the Roblox Twitter Page. Users often take to Twitter before they even report a problem, so it’s a good place to look when you want to confirm there is an issue with the service.

If you can’t open Twitter or other popular websites like Facebook or YouTube, then the problem could be with your ISP.

Use a third-party status checker website like Down For Everyone Or Just Me, Downdetector, Is It Down Right Now?, and Outage.Report.

If no one else is reporting issues with Roblox, then it’s likely the problem is on your side.

Work through these steps in order until you get Roblox working again.

Roblox Error Messages

Roblox can experience heavy usage, and it does sometimes go down, or experience difficulty connecting players because too many people are trying to access the Roblox servers at one time. Here are some of the error messages you may experience:

Close and re-open the app. Sometimes just restarting the app is enough to get it working correctly again. Be sure you close Android apps or quit iPhone apps the correct way to fully shut them down before you open them back up again.

Make sure Roblox is up to date. If you’ve received update notifications, be sure to complete those updates if they don’t complete automatically. If you’re not sure Roblox is completely updated, log out of Roblox, then open it in a web browser. This should automatically apply any new updates.

If you’re using Roblox outside on a device rather than a web browser, reinstall the app. Apps can sometimes run into issues, and a re-install will often fix the problem immediately.

Download Roblox For:

Restart your router or modem. If the problem you’re having is a network issue, restarting the network may solve the problem.

If you’re playing Roblox in a browser, clear your browser’s cache. You can clear the cache on all major web browsers on desktop and mobile. Doing so can solve performance issues as it removes saved data from other websites you’ve visited. You can also clear the cache on Android and clear your iPhone or iPad’s cache, which works in much the same way as clearing your browser’s cache.

Clear your browser’s cookies. If clearing the cache doesn’t work, clear the cookies, which are small files containing information about you, such as advertising preferences or personalization settings.

Check your computer for malware. Many types of malware can interfere with programs that require a lot of resources, like Roblox. You might also have a virus on your Android smartphone, and while rare, iPhones can be vulnerable to security risks.

Disable your firewall. Just remember to re-enable it later. Sometimes, firewalls can create software conflicts that could interfere with your gameplay. Just remember to get that firewall back up as quickly as possible, because it takes just seconds for a determined hacker to find a computer connected to the internet without a firewall enabled.

Restart your computer or mobile device. Restarting a computer seems to clear up a lot of problems, so a simple restart might fix your issue.

Sometimes, there can be an issue with your DNS server. If you feel comfortable switching DNS servers, there are many free and public methods, but they can require more advanced knowledge.
