Rumors are afloat in the tech community that ZTE U988S will be the first smarphone to pack the powerful Tegra 4 processor. Now images of U988S have been leaked by folks at PhoneArena. In the picture you will see a red color ZTE phone with probably a 5 inch display. You will also see the 13 Megapixel rear camera and volume rockers and power buttons along the sides.On April, specs and images of ZTE N988 had surfaced and it was rumored to be that the N988 would be first phablet to come with Tegra 4.

The Xiaomi MI3 has similar rumored specs and price as the ZTE U988S except it is not clear whether the Mi3 will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 or the Tegra 4 processor. In the coming days, while the world’s eye lay on the Samsung and Apple smartphone war, in Asia the big war will probably be Xiaomi VS ZTE.
July 15th, 2013 UPDATE: ZTE has posted official images of ZTE U988S on Sina Weibo. This is said to be the China mobile version known as ZTE U988S Geek.
