Although, Microsoft has rolled out the “Get Windows 10” app to enable Windows 7 and Windows 8 users to reserve their free copy of Windows 10, the company explains that Windows Insiders running Windows 10 Preview don’t need to reserve a copy.

According to the software giant, Insiders don’t need to reserve the free upgrade, they will be updating automatically when the final build releases on July 29th.

This news also puts an end to the question of users’ concern, whether they will be able to upgrade to the final version of Windows 10 when it releases. The announcement was made by the head of the Windows Insider program, Gabriel Aul, who said on Twitter: “You won’t need to reserve, and if you’re running Insider Preview you’ll be upgraded.”

@schrubbls You won’t need to reserve, and if you’re running Insider Preview you’ll be upgraded.

This means that only qualifying PCs running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows 8.1 Update will get the notice from the “Get Windows 10” app to reserve their free upgrade to Windows 10.

It’s worth to remind that Microsoft will also allow users to perform a clean install of the new operating system once they upgrade their systems to Windows 10 using Windows Update.
